Mark Swarner is the mission pastor and team leader for Serving at MPPC. The Serving team includes missions, leadership development, and our multisite campuses. Before joining the church in 2007, Mark served at Village Community Presbyterian Church in Rancho Santa Fe, California, overseeing mission, communication and stewardship for four years. He enjoyed building partnerships with the local church, local agencies and urban ministries. Mark has also served as chair of the Missions Committee for the Presbytery of San Diego.
Mark has a wide range of mission experience globally, and has led trips to Kenya, India, Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, Mexico, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan, as well as across the United States.
A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and Fuller Theological Seminary, Mark was ordained as a Presbyterian Minister in 1996. He is currently completing the Doctor of Ministry program at Fuller Theology Seminary.
Mark and Kerri, his wife of 10 years, have two daughters and a son. In his spare time, Mark enjoys playing the guitar, gardening, and spending time with his family.
