Join us for an eight-week series, "Telling Myself the Truth” for single parents or couples and their children facing stress situations. This series is uniquely designed with parallel programs for both adults and school-aged children in grades 1-5. This program builds confidence and self-esteem and teaches practical and healthy living skills for the entire family.
Topics Include
• Avoiding self-talk that can lead to distressing results
• Dealing with self-esteem
• Avoiding pitfalls resulting from misconceptions of ones abilities
• Improving coping skills for stressful situations
• Learning to recognize and reject self-destructive messages
• Jesus helps me with my thoughts and feelings
• Family Graduation Night
A separate adult program, which meets at the same time as the children’s program, teaches the same concepts, as well as how to model them for your child. It provides parents a chance to review the information taught to the children and learn new ways of supporting their child. This program will also provide support, networking, and an opportunity to meet other parents. Non-custodial adults who do not have a child enrolled in the children’s program are also encouraged to attend.
Cost: $30 per family (scholarships available). Pre-registration is required.
Free childcare offered for children 3 months old - Kindergarten
