Widows and Widowers Grief Support Class

Menlo Park Campus

Sundays, September 19 - December 5, 1-3 p.m.

The Widow and Widower Grief Recovery class welcomes widows and widowers of all ages who have had a recent loss of a spouse, or those individuals still struggling with the loss of their spouse from years past.  Our class provides a safe place for sharing experiences, understanding the grieving process, finding hope and support, and beginning our journey to recovery.

To help us through the grieving and recovery process, we will be using a workbook to support our journey, Grief Recovery, A Workbook for Widows and Widowers by Robyn Mar.  There is a $7 fee for the workbook, collected at the first meeting.

Subjects to be covered include:

  • Facing Loss
  • Understanding Grief
  • Choosing to Recover
  • Letting Go of the Past
  • Getting Back in Balance
  • Building a New Life

* Pre-registration is required and new members will be accepted during the first two weeks of class.  It is not necessary to be a member of Menlo Park Presbyterian Church to attend this or other MPPC programs.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord," plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

"Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4
