“And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
Micah 6:8
As a church, we respond to the transforming love of Jesus by looking beyond the walls of MPPC to address 3 specific needs:
• Education
• Human Trafficking
• Poverty
Rather than passively allow the suffering of people God loves, we choose to be used – as Christ was – as vessels of hope and transformation. Through our Easter Offering, we get an opportunity to participate financially in God’s work by supporting work in these three global focus areas. Here are some of the ways your offering will transform lives around the world:
Education—Ethiopia
Without educational opportunity, the world’s poorest residents miss out on the chance to thrive. A lack of education not only affects the welfare of individuals; it affects families, cities, and entire nations. Among other projects, our offering will provide scholarships for students to attend Hope University College, a Christian-founded liberal arts college in Ethiopia. The investment in these individuals will impact generations to come.
Human Trafficking - Philippines
As many as 27 million men, women, and children live in slavery today. Jelena is a girl who was rescued after being trafficked out of a bar in Cebu, Philippines at the age of fifteen. Once rescued, Jelena faced a difficult journey of restoration. Trafficking survivors like Jelena need counseling, job training, and a community to support them as they grow toward independent, sustainable living and a faith in Jesus. Solid Ground International is a new transitional home, started by MPPC members and backed by International Justice Mission, to provide that extra step in restoration. Your offering will help make this home and other anti-trafficking work possible.
Poverty - Brazil
Street children in the favelas (slums) of Brazil face a dismal future. Thanks to partners like Hope Unlimited, many former street children find hope, healing, and new life in Christ. Last year, MPPC helped Hope Unlimited begin a thrift store in Brazil. Our initial donation of $15,000 provided the final funding for a thrift store that now generates $300,000 annually to support programs for children at mortal risk in Brazil. Among other opportunities, our goal is to help Hope Unlimited open another thrift store in Brazil, in an effort to make this ministry self-sustaining for years to come.
Thank you for your generous support of this year’s Easter Offering!
