MPPC's Response to the Haitian Earthquake, January 2010.
MPPC has committed $12,000 in mission funds for an initial response through World Vision, an MPPC mission partner that already has hundreds of staff on the ground.

One of our own "Members-in-Mission" works for World Vision as a security specialist, and is being deployed to Haiti this week.

We will also be looking at hands-on opportunities for relief and recovery in the future, including possible short-term trips.  Haiti was already considered the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, and the process of physical rebuilding will take years.  The process of emotional healing will take a lifetime, especially for those who have lost loved ones or homes. 
 

Please pray for the people of Haiti, and for the relief workers who will be working tirelessly in the days ahead.

If you would like to support relief efforts, you can donate through the church (checks payable to MPPC with a memo for "Haiti earthquake").  We will send 100% of these funds to World Vision or other well-qualified agencies.
