Local Community

Every follower of Jesus has a role in God’s life-changing work all around us, right where we live and work. Mission is more than simply writing a check or signing up for another church activity; mission is about becoming a person who is meaningfully engaged in the community as a follower of Jesus.

Through hands-on experiences, learning opportunities, personal equipping, and strategic partnerships, we are committed to developing people who will in turn make a lasting difference in individual lives and in society for God’s glory.

Not sure where to start? Sometimes it's helpful to just pick something and try it out. If you would like some assistance in understanding your spiritual gifts or narrowing down your options, we have a ministry connector who will be happy to help!

Ongoing Opportunities
We support a variety of ministry partners in our local community. Serving opportunities are grouped in three areas listed below. Click on an icon that looks interesting to you, and explore the different ministries according to your gifts and availability.

Schools and Tutoring Education
Do the educational inequalities between the underserved and our own affluent school districts distress you, but you're not sure what to do? Come alongside a student, teacher, or classroom, where you can make a difference.

At Risk Children and Adults Human Trafficking
Does your heart break for the victims of slavery right here in the Bay Area and around the world--domestic servants, child laborers sex slaves and forced laborers? Become an abolitionist!

Hunger and Homeless Poverty
Have you ever walked by a homeless person and thought, "That could be me?" Activate your compassion by providing for practical needs, while also imparting dignity, worth, and God's love.

Start with one opportunity, and if it isn't a good fit, you can always investigate something else.  Sometimes, you just need to try something.  If you get stuck and can't decide, just ask for assistance from one of our Ministry Connectors, who will be happy to meet with you at your convenience to help you sort through your options.
